BOLD HEATH GARDEN CENTRE |
|
Bold Heath Garden Centre was literally raised from the ashes in 1997 after being burnt to the ground in the previous year. A largish garden centre with a good proportion of the sales area devoted to plants. It's owned by the largest chain of garden centres in the UK, Wyevale Garden Centres, so all hardy plants come with a life time guarantee. The signs for plants are good and they are arranged alphabetically but the large size of the plants area may mean you have to search for a specific plant. The indoor sales area sell gardening accessories and the normal range of gifts, books, garden furniture, barbecues etc. There is an aquatics department on site, Maidenhead Aquatics, which sells lots of fish and other related feeds and accessories. Bold Heath Garden Centre have their own club card scheme (Wyevale Garden Centres scheme) with various benefits for their members. Details of the club and a comparison with the clubs of other garden centres can be found by clicking here. If you are thinking of visiting this garden centre to make a purchase it may well be worth taking a look at their discounts and rewards. The cafe serves homemade food including main meal specials, snack, salads, coffees, teas and cakes. Reasonable prices for good quality food. They were awarded a four star food hygiene rating by St Helens Metropolitan Borough Council in January 2014. Click here for the full report.
The car park looks big enough but does get rather crowded at weekends and Bank Holidays.
