First the plants, many are grown on site ensuring high quality is maintained in conjunction with low prices. The full range of shrubs, roses, alpines, perennials, herbaceous and other plants are to be found at Willowbrook. They specialise in clematis selling healthy and attractive specimens. They also have a larger than normal choice of roses and evergreen plants.
The plant area is fully paved with wide paths on an even surface. There are no signs to help find plant groups but individual plant information is excellent. At one end of the outside area is shop called Wine Solutions which not surprisingly sells wine - unusual for a garden centre. At the front of the garden centre there are several greenhouses and garden buildings on display.
The aquatics department (supplied by Bow Aquatics) sells lots of coldwater and tropical fish alongside all the accessories and feeds for fish you could ever want. The adjoining pet shop sells all the goodies needed to keep your pets happy and also stocks a good range of reptiles and spiders.
Other areas that are covered include a good choice of bird feeds and all things to do with our winged friends. Pots and planters are well displayed as are the extensive range of garden ornaments and statues. Prices are slightly lower than average with economy Yeoman spades and forks at £12.99, roses from £7.99, potentillas at £7.49.
The cafe and tea room has indoor and outdoor seating. Although the tables and chairs are plastic the cafe is pleasant with lots of light coming from very large windows to two sides. The serve main meals at around £7.00 and a range of snack food and drinks.
