Seale Nurseries have been growing roses as far back to 1948, that's well over 70 years of experience. What's more they specialise in one area only - growing roses. So, if you want the personal service that only a small family run nursery can provide and roses are your plant of choice then this is possibly the best nursery in the UK to visit.
Over the years the rose nursery owners have developed several methods for growing roses with the aim of producing plants which grow healthily and strongly. One method has proved so beneficial, the Seale Super Rose method, that they have an official patent for it. Without giving too much away, it is primarily aimed at a method of grafting roses in containers to ensure maximum health and vitality.
Aside from the personal service you will receive at this rose nursery, the sheer number of roses available for sale is a compelling reason to visit them rather than a general purpose garden centre. Next time you consider buying a rose plant consider that their average life is 35 years and with good care 50 years is easily a possibility. With that in mind it's a good investment of your time to visit a specialist nursery such as Seale Nurseries when making your purchase.
Within the speciality of growing roses they are particularly noted for their fragrant roses, climbers and shrub roses. The other area which distinguishes them from the run-of-mill garden centre is their stock of fully grown roses (large and small) to give instant impact to your garden.
They offer a "Rose Rescue Service" which we believe many people will find particularly useful. If you have a valued rose which is not performing well or reaching the end of its useful life, Seale Roses will graft a stem of it onto an appropriate rootstock to provide you with another rose plant of exactly the same which will then grow for another 35 plus years.
We have put together a suggested route for visiting three garden centres / plant nurseries in the Farnham area during May and one of them is Seale Nurseries. The route is only 9 miles and also includes a rhododendron / azalea / camellia specialist nursery plus a general purpose garden centre where you can stop for lunch and some shopping. Click here for more details of this free mini day out.
Other garden centre (not rose specialists) in the Farnham area include Millais Nurseries (rhododendron and azalea specialists), Frensham Garden Centre, Badshot Lea Garden Centre and Forest Lodge Garden Centre.
