Woking Garden Centre is one of 15 owned by Squires, medium to large sized, it is typical of their average garden centre. In the plants area the paths are wide and flat, with an interesting layout. There is a covered area to house tender and seasonal plants although the majority of plants are outside. Hardy plants have a three year guarantee. Several years ago the gained planning permission for expanding the site, including a larger outside canopy but they do not appear to have acted on this. On site they have a large display of garden buildings including sheds and greenhouses.
Inside the sales area is clean and relatively modern-looking with a good selection of gardening accessories, more than enough to satisfy the needs of most gardeners. The main thrust of the area though is to sell non-gardening goods such as food, gifts, cards, garden and conservatory furniture and the like. They have lots of healthy looking indoor plants.
At Christmas santa pays a visit and kids can visit him in his grotto for free. A donation to charity will also secure a present. There are lots of decorations and seasonal gifts for sale at this time of year as well as real and synthetic trees.
Woking Garden Centre was awarded a five star food hygiene rating by Woking Borough Council in July 2013.
Other garden centres nearby to Woking Garden Centre include the GCG Woking Garden Centre, Spring Reach Nursery.
