CAFE REVIEW FOR LONGACRES GARDEN CENTRE
The Cafe Amore at Longacres Garden Centre was a big surprise for us.
For such a large garden centre the cafe size is very modest. No
plush seating areas or beautiful views here.
But clearly this cafe has set itself a target of providing only
coffees, teas, cakes and snack meals in a clean environment at
excellent prices. The food they do serve is excellent value (large
coffee at only £1.05) and very edible indeed. We had a bacon roll
and baguette. Both tasted delicious.
The seating area is plain and the table and chairs are basic
plastic, but there is something about the atmosphere at cafe Amore
which is very engaging. The staff play a major part in creating the
atmosphere. An Italian style coffee shop the waiters greet you when
walk in and will show you to a table if you are looking round too
long.
They chat to the guests, make them laugh and will even take food to
your table if they have a spare moment. Sitting in the cafe, their
system is clear. Lots of staff who circulate around the seating area
helping guests. Immediately you have left (and they are in no hurry
for you to do this) the waiters will clear and wash the table in 30
seconds ready for the next customers.
Remember those occasions in other garden centre cafes where the
waiters / waitresses and staff look totally disinterested? Not at
the Cafe Amore! They are attentive, friendly and work extremely hard
at providing you with a pleasant cafe atmosphere and good food.
So, in conclusion, it's cheap and cheerful but with the twist of top
class service, pleasant staff and very good food and drinks. We
recommend you give it a try.
