Pinewood Nursery was started in 1982 as a wholesale vegetable nursery and over ten years or so they grew to become a huge supplier of salad vegetables. Over the years interest in British grown vegetables waned and the nursery changed direction and began growing bedding plants. With over two acres of greenhouse space they are predominantly a wholesale nursery but over the past few years have increased the number of plants sold to the general public.
They concentrate on bedding plants but at Christmas they expand into selling all things to do with Christmas including Christmas trees, and houseplants (mainly poinsettias in every imaginable colour).
A new Farm Shop was opened in 2006 and they sell vegetables, hampers, fresh bread, meat, cheese, jams and lots more. The latest addition to Pinewood Nurseries is their Prop House Cafe which opened in 2011. Breakfasts, snacks, light meals, coffees and teas are sold throughout the day.
