CAFE REVIEW
QUALITY OF FOOD
We sampled a couple of meals at the cafe and were impressed with the
quality of the food, how it was cooked and presentation. One meal we
tried was chicken goujons with salad and chips. The chunks of
chicken were large with a tasty bread crumb coating. The salad had
clearly been freshly cut and laid out and the coleslaw was crunchy
and very homemade.
The baked potato was nicely done with a generous portion of filling.
Tea and coffee were both excellent. We were impressed especially at
the very reasonable prices.
DECOR AND SEATING
The cafe is a dedicated area with an attractively laid out seating
plan. The tables and chairs were plastic but very chunky and looked
good. There were lots of windows all around which gave the cafe a
pleasant airy feeling.
Lots of effort has gone into the design of this cafe and we
particularly liked the exposed brickwork. All in all a very pleasant
cafe area. In addition to the indoor seating area there were lots of
seats outside. The view was of the attractive looking garden centre
are, great for warm days.
SERVICE
Although the cafe was crowded the service was prompt with little or
no queues. Main meals were served to your table within five minutes
of your order being taken. This is clearly a well run cafe because
we also noted that when a table was vacated it was immediately
cleaned ready for the next customers.
THE PRICES
Main meals cost around £7 to £8, coffee £1.60, tea £1.55, children's
lunchbox £4.00, baked potatoes £4 to £5 depending on filling, full
English breakfast (up to 11) $6, large salads at £6 with paninis at
around £5.50. Good value for the quality of the food.
CONCLUSION
Well above average food at average prices in a pleasant cafe make
this one we recommend highly.
