Entrance to Coventry Garden Centre This garden centre started out its life in the 1960s as a small nursery selling only plants. It was taken over by Wyevale (now Wyevale Garden Centres) in 1985 and has remained largely unchanged since that time. By the standards of its owners this is one of their smaller garden centres and in many ways that's a good thing.

A view of the plants area, click to enlarge it The exterior plants area is pleasantly laid out with small plant bays. No special centre pieces or design features but it makes for an interesting wander round. There is a reasonable range of plants here, no particular specialities because its size doesn't allow that. However, it will satisfy the needs of most gardeners.

The paths are solid paving slabs and they are wide enough to allow easy access. About a quarter of the area is under cover so rainy day shopping for plants is a possibility. There are lots of large, high level signs to guide you round the area, maybe too many and too large for a plants area of this size. The plants are in excellent condition and of course many are covered by Wyevale Garden Centres five year hardy plant guarantee.

The inside shopping area is also small and devoted mainly to gardening goods and garden furniture. The area few gift items for sale but this is really only a shopping destination for gardeners.

CAFE
There is no cafe at the Coventry Garden Centre.
