BACKGROUND

This garden centre started out its life in the 1960s as a small nursery selling only plants. Coventry Garden Centre is one of the smaller garden centres now owned by British Garden Centres. They acquired Coventry Garden Centre from Wyevale's in February 2019 for a price of £300,000.

PLANTS AT COVENTRY GARDEN CENTRE

SIZE OF PLANTS AREA: This is a medium sized plants area with about 30% of it being under cover.

PLANT SELECTION: Given the size of the plants area, they have crammed in a good selection. The plants are generally in good condition.

LAYOUT: The layout is L-shaped with paths being wide for easy access with no steps and reasonably level.

Signage to various plants groups is clear. However in some cases plants have been placed in unmarked areas. We were looking for a potentilla and nearly gave up until we came across them unexpectedly in a random area.

Some attempt has been made to arrange the varieties in alphabetical order, but on occasions this has failed.

It's an interesting area because it is on the small side, and you could never be quite sure what you might find at any point.

Garden Pots

VALUE FOR MONEY: Prices are slightly lower than average. For example the cheapest rose we could find was only £9.99 and the cheapest clematis being a more normal £14.99.
