The business was started in 1981 as a relatively small concern but over the years it has expanded to a four acre site, three acres being under cover. The wholesale plant trade is extremely competitive and in 2003 Bagintons became a Limited company in order to raise substantial amounts of money for investment in new technology. This has paid off handsomely in conjunction with their push for business from local authorities. It's often not realised how huge numbers of plants are bought by local authorities for roundabouts, parks and other public areas.
