Village Plants is a family run business by the same owners for over 20 years. Originally it was a smallholding leased out to ex-serviceman after World War II.
The specialise is hardy plants, perennials and evergreens and they sell number of other plants including bedding plants when in season. With low overheads they offer cheap but top quality plants.

 

Not only are they open to the public but they also supply the needs of landscapers. Provided with a buying list from a landscaper they will supply them with plants grown on their own nurseries. Where particular plants are not available they will source them from elsewhere in the UK and if necessary from Europe.

The plants area is larger than it would appear at first and they have clear signs to help you find specific plants. Many of the paths are hard surfaced and they are wide enough to get round easily. Village Plants is a real alternative to normal garden centres if you are looking for value-for-money and healthy plants which have been grown locally. Excellent horticultural advice is always available from the on-site owners. In the shop they stock a small range of composts, garden chemicals and feeds.
