Stokesley is one of the larger Strikes / Klondyke garden centres and although it doesn't make it into one of the top 100 UK garden centres it can't be far off. The plants area is large and well laid out with solid paths and good signs to show plant groupings. The quality of the plants is tip-top and hardy plants benefit from a five year guarantee.

The main emphasis of this garden centre centre is not on the plants it's on the inside sales area. Not only do they have garden and conservatory furniture but a good choice of home furnishings including a particularly good choice of oak furniture. The clothing department is also bigger than normal with lots of women's clothing in particular.

The aquatics department is provided by Maidenhead Aquatics and, as always, they do a good job not only on the display side but also on the sheer range of the goods available. The craft shop is also excellent selling many items which are difficult to obtain locally. Wheelchair access in the outside and inside areas is particularly good.

We haven't eaten at the Topiary Cafe in Stokesley but a scan of the many reviews published on the internet paint a very definite picture of poor quality food and below par service.
