The Northallerton garden centre has been run by Strikes from 2000. In 2011 it underwent a major redevelopment which improved the cafe, new craft shop, new clothing shop and an extended covered outdoor area to provide customers with more protection from the Yorkshire weather. This is a medium sized garden centre with a fair range of plants in good condition. Hardy plants come with the benefit of a five year guarantee.

The plants area is plainly laid out but it's on the level and has a solid surface. The inside area contains all the garden accessories most gardeners will need at reasonable prices. They also stock a range of barbecues, gifts, books and garden furniture. The new craft shop is a welcome addition.

THE TOPIARY COFFEE SHOP

The cafe serves drinks, cakes, snacks and main meals. The quality of the food appears to be very variable judging from the reviews on the internet. It was awarded a five star rating for food hygiene in July 2024 by North Yorkshire. Click here for the full report.
