for Google map showing location of Staunton Garden Centre. It's lucky that the plants area is not large because there are no signs to plant groups. When we looked there was no apparent logic behind the position of plants, they seemed to be jumbled up. They have a particularly extensive range of roses, clematis and ornamental trees. In the covered area they stock an unusual choice of more tender and exotic plants. The plants are in very good condition with many of them being grown in-house. We saw no advertised hardy plant guarantee. The interior is pleasantly laid out with most items that the average gardener might need. Not a huge selection but enough. Staunton also stock a selection of non-gardening items such as gifts, cards etc. There is also a selection of good quality garden furniture. Maybe we missed something but the English wine centre only stocked a small selection of wines although there were more unusual ciders and beers for sale. The cafe is pleasantly laid out with plastic furniture and it's light and airy with good decor. There are inside and conservatory seating areas. Food prices were slightly higher than average however we were unable to sample food on this visit. The menu certainly looked interesting with lots of choice. The food is freshly cooked. The area is well laid out with small plant bays which gives it an attractive and interesting appearance. Sample prices include roses starting at £7.75 and common shrubs starting at £7.50, about average for a garden centre of this size.
