CAFE AT SIDMOUTH GARDEN CENTRE

One of the key attractions of Sidmouth Garden Centre is the cafe which has earned a very good reputation from the locals and some not so local customers. The food is fresh and tasty and they serve main meals, cakes, snacks, coffees and teas.

The cafe is run by Blue Coast Catering and they were awarded the top five stars for food hygiene by the Food Standards Agency in July 2012. However, in June 2014 this was reduced to only three stars which is not good news, read the full report here. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas and the view from the outdoor area is well worth a visit on its own account.

PLANTS AT SIDMOUTH GARDEN CENTRE

Sidmouth Garden Centre is medium sized and they do a good job of offering a wide range of plants in the area they have. They stock fruit trees, bushes, ornamental trees, roses, shrubs and many other plants. They have an exceptional display of bedding plants in season. The plants are bought in rather than grown on site and we see no indication of a hardy plant guarantee.

They won garden centre of the year (less the £3 million turnover) in 2012 and one of the key reasons for this was their high levels of service.

INTERIOR SALES AREA

The interior is pleasantly laid out and stocks a good choice of gardeners' needs including composts, chemicals, pots, sheds and lots more. They also sell bid foods and tables, gifts, barbecues, garden furniture, all the goods you expect form a garden centre of this size.

CHRISTMAS AT SIDMOUTH GARDEN CENTRE

The garden centre celebrates Christmas to the full with excellent live and synthetic Christmas trees, decorations and gifts. A visit to Santa was hosted by the local Rotary Club and was free although donations are appreciated. Excellent!
