"We have been running for over 20 years" and "John has been the proud owner of orchard nurseries since 1982" are two quotes from the website of Orchard Nurseries which don't quite tie up. Either way the have been in business for a significant period of time.

When we asked how many of the plants for sale were grown on site our request was greeted with a "that's our business, not yours" type of response. We did ascertain that a "large number" of plants were grown on site.

Plant sales are of course important at the nursery but they have expanded into a few other specialist areas. Most unusual is their choice of live tortoises for sale including all the accessories and feeds. Pigeon feeds are also sold as are other small pet accessories.

There is no cafe at Orchard Nurseries in Exeter.
