The plants at Oaklands Nursery all looked in very good condition. The layout of the nursery is the basic style found at most plant nurseries, the majority of the plants were on the ground in the open. They do have several large poly tunnels where plants are also for sale.

This is a large nursery, larger than many we have seen and the choice of plants is good. You're likely to find most common plants here and some slightly unusual ones. They sell  a good choice of perennials, roses, shrubs, conifers, bedding and vegetable plants. They also sell fruit and ornamental trees. At Christmas they have stacks of Christmas trees.

There is a small selection of garden building on show and lots of pots in all sizes and shapes.

We looked at the prices and they weren't cheap for a nursery with far lower overhead costs compared to a smart garden centre. For instance the cheapest roses we could find were £7.99, very similar to a large garden centre.

Access around the nursery is OK for able bodied people but wheelchair users would struggle on the loose gravel and the narrow paths in the poly-tunnels.

The interior sales area is a very large greenhouse with tender plants at the entrance end and gardening goods at the far end. Whilst there isn't a huge selection of gardening accessories, you will find most common items here.

The car park is on a mixture of gravel and grass, it's large enough to cope with the demand. A mention must go to to the drive in / out entrance which is on a very busy roundabout. The way it is set up there is only room for one car to get through the entrance. So beware if anyone is exiting the nursery when you want to enter it, you will need to stop on the roundabout to let them out first.

Lovely place, very friendly people. They seem to have all of the usual plants you'd expect, and some unusual ones too.
