Forest Garden Centre has a very well kept plants area which is thoughtfully designed and has a good choice of plants, more than enough for the average gardener. The paths are on solid ground and they are wide enough to easily get around.

They stock seasonal bedding plants, planted hanging baskets, shrubs, ornamental and fruit trees. The normal range of composts is available, paving and fencing alongside a large selection of pots and planters. Water features are also on display with many working near the garden buildings display.

The interior sales space has all you would expect from a modern, medium-sized garden centre and it is very tastefully laid out. Gifts, a large section dedicated to garden furniture, clothing and cookware all feature prominently. Prices do tend to be on the high side. Both the inside and outside sales areas are wheelchair friendly.

THE TALL TREES CAFE AT FOREST GARDEN CENTRE

A very frequent claim by Derbyshire garden centre cafes is that they bake the best scones of all. Certainly this cafe bakes scones daily and they do taste good. The menu includes main meals, snack meals, cakes and drinks. The prices are higher than the average but the quality of the food is good.
