Burnside Garden Centre is a medium sized garden centre in the Klondyke / Strikes chain. It's never going to attract customers from miles away but it does a good job of satisfying the gardening needs of the locals. The choice of plants is reasonably standard but they are well kept, well watered and in the correct size of pots.

The outside plants area is similar to many others in the Klondyke / Strikes chain with straight paths that are easy to get round and generally tidy. A bit more design effort for the area wouldn't go amiss. There are few high level signs to direct customers around the area but it's not huge so that really isn't a problem. Individual plant information is good. Hardy plants come with a standard five year guarantee.

The interior sales area houses a good range of gardening accessories, seeds and bulbs. They also sell a reasonable choice of garden and conservatory furniture as well as barbecues, gifts, cards.

The onsite craft shop is larger than you might expect and stocks a full range of goods for the hobbyist. We find it especially useful for Christmas and birthday gifts. Maidenhead Aquatics are in charge of the aquatics shop and they stock all the aspiring expert will need including live fish, tanks, pumps, feeds and more. THE TOPIARY COFFEE SHOP

The cafe serves drinks, cakes, snacks, main meals and have both indoor and outdoor seating areas. It was awarded a five star rating for food hygiene in January 2014 by Wyre Borough Council. Click here for the full report.
