Dobbies has announced that they are closing their Paisley Garden Centre with effect from 31 December 2011.

This has always been one of the smaller of Dobbies Garden Centres and competition from much larger branches at Cumbernauld, Milngavie and Braehead.

In particular the Braehead Garden Centre, which opened in February 2011, has taken almost all the business from the nearby Paisley Garden Centre. There are currently 32 staff employed at the paisley branch and Dobbies hope to minimise the impact of the closure by finding them jobs at nearby garden centres.

At the moment there is no news of what will happen to the site at Paisley Garden Centre. No offers have been received for it to continue as a garden centre under new owners.
