12 April 2011
On 9th April 2011 All-in-One bought Hills Garden Centre in
Knutsford.
All-in-One already have a well established garden centre
in Manchester which was launched by the owners, Dave and
Beryl Stafford, in 1971. A £2 million investment in 1988
transformed the business into the large garden centre it now
is.
Hills Garden Centre was bought by Reuben Fielding in
2009. It is perhaps best known for the miniature railway
which attracts people to the garden centre. |
Initially the new owners, All-in-One, are concentrating on
improving the Point of Sale and customer service aspects of the
business. They have already invested £15,000 in a new EPOS system
which is now up and running. Further major investment will be made
after the "busy" season for the garden centre is over. The full
press release is replicated below.
Introducing All-In-One Knutsford
After 40 years of nurturing our Middleton store from humble holdings
to a hugely successful and award winning garden centre, we are
thrilled to be welcoming All-In-One Knutsford (previously Hills
Garden Centre) to the family business.
Known locally as Hills Garden Centre, it has an excellent local
reputation in plant growing and retailing and is situated just south
of Knutsford in Allostock, a beautiful village in the Cheshire
countryside and close to Jodrell Bank.
Home to an award winning Miniature Railway, our newly acquired
centre offers a warm welcome and as you would expect from
All-In-One, expert help and advice is readily available. A wide
range of Gardening accessories are stocked as well as Garden
Furniture, Pots and Containers, Landscaping, Seasonal Plants,
Houseplants, and Giftware. A Pet Store and Cafe are also available.
Financial Director, Jason Stafford has this to say: "All the staff
at All-In-One are thrilled to announce this acquisition and are very
much looking forward to welcoming all of the existing staff into the
All-In-One family and of course meeting our new customers.
All-In-One believe this centre offers much potential in garden
centre retailing and is looking forward to the challenge of
developing the business further."
