Stubbings is not your normal plant nursery. For starters it's situated on the Stubbings Estate which is used to hold large events, it also houses an office complex. Secondly, the nursery part of the business is very specialised. They specialise primarily in mature plants for an instant effect. Topiary plants in all shapes are available, large or small.

They also offer a huge range of semi-mature to mature trees, up to 20ft high. They can also provide plants for hedging from one year old whips to a fully established hedge. Specimen plants, herbaceous plants and roses are also sold. The roses are David Austen and some of them have been trained into fascinating shapes.

In season they sell bedding plants, hanging baskets, vegetable starter plants etc. One very unusual area they specialise in is hiring out plants. So if you want some unusual large plants in your garden for an event then Stubbings Nursery is the place to visit.

If an up-market cabin or even a garden office is on your shopping list then A K Cabins have a display at Stubbings. Lots of them and very expensive! Finally they also stock chickens and all the equipment to get you started in this increasingly popular hobby.

The cafe was opened in August 2011 and is housed in a glasshouse with views onto the garden and it looks very attractive both inside and out. For warmer days there is an uncovered area. They serve excellent breakfasts up to 11.30. Other menu items are primarily light lunches including sandwiches, baked potatoes, salads and the like. Prices are slightly higher compared to other garden centre cafes but the surroundings and food quality fully warrant them.
