CHOOSE GARDEN CENTRES BY COUNTY BELOW
This independent review of Woodmeadow Garden Centre was written by David Marks and was last updated in November 2025. This is an in depth review by a real human as a result of visiting this garden centre, no Artificial Intelligence is involved!
We reviewed the inside and plant sales areas, took pictures (see lower down this article) and checked out the cafe. The cafe check involved ordering and tasting the food and reporting our findings for you to judge.
Located between Kettering and Northampton on the A43, Woodmeadow Garden Centre has been running under its current owners for two years. There has been a nursery / garden centre on this site from as far back as 1984. At present the garden centre is fully established but at the same time still developing.
IS WOODMEADOW GARDEN CENTRE DOG FRIENDLY? Woodmeadow is fully dog friendly with dogs on their lead welcome in all of the garden centre and cafe. Woodmeadow does have a cat called Mrs Bojangles who will stand her ground if any dog gets that little bit too friendly, it is after all her home!

Whilst this is most definitely a Tea Shop and not a cafe, it provides an
excellent range of snacks including cakes which are
baked on the premises.

The design of the exterior of the plants area is in a basic nursery style with many of the plants laid out at ground level. They stock a range of shrubs, roses, bedding plants, ornamental and fruit trees, climbers - everything you would expect from a good garden centre.
Because the design is still being formalised it's a bit like an open Aladdin's cave and that makes it interesting for browsing.
The garden centre has a showcase area for Taylors Garden Buildings, in fact they appear to be one and the same company. The display of sheds, seats, summer houses and other buildings is larger than you would expect from a garden centre of this size although Taylors stock far more online than they display here.
If you are looking for garden buildings in the Northampton area then Woodmeadow Garden Centre is a good place to start.
In March 2024 Woodmeadow Garden Centre opened The Shack founded by Karen Akhtar. The building houses over 40 crafters making and selling unique items.
If you are looking for gifts at any time of the year or rather quirky items for yourself, this is a great place to visit. They have event days throughout the year.
At Christmas they stock a very large choice of trees and supply several of the local schools. They also stock synthetic trees, wreaths, decorations and Christmas lights.
