CHOOSE GARDEN CENTRES BY COUNTY BELOW
This independent review of Willowbrook Nursery and Garden Centre in Wellington was written by David Marks after visiting the garden centre a few years ago.
This is an in depth review by a real human as a result of visiting this garden centre, no Artificial Intelligence is involved! We reviewed the inside and plant sales areas, took pictures (see lower down this article) and checked out the cafe.

Willowbrook Nursery and Garden Centre in Wellington, Somerset was originally opened in 1990 by the Grabham family and has been run by them from that date.
It is sometimes confused (AI overviews are particularly guilty of this) with Willowbrook Garden Centre in Bromsgrove. The two garden centres are not connected at all.
IS WILLOWBROOK NURSERY AND GARDEN CENTRE DOG FRIENDLY?
Willowbrook Nursery and Garden Centre is mainly but not totally dog friendly.
Dogs are allowed in all areas except the cafe. As far as the cafe is concerned Willowbrook provide an outside, uncovered seating area immediately outside the cafe.
So unfortunately if it's raining or the weather is very cold, a visit to the cafe is not really practical for dog owners.
Horticulture always was, and still is, at the centre of this garden centre but at the same time the business has expanded to include a garden shop, the aquatics centre and a pet and bird department
First the plants, many are grown on site ensuring high quality is maintained in conjunction with low prices. The full range of shrubs, roses, alpines, perennials, herbaceous and other plants are to be found at Willowbrook. They specialise in clematis selling healthy and attractive specimens. They also have a larger than normal choice of roses and evergreen plants.
The plant area is fully paved with wide paths on an even surface. There are no signs to help find plant groups but individual plant information is excellent. At one end of the outside area is shop called Wine Solutions which not surprisingly sells wine - unusual for a garden centre. At the front of the garden centre there are several greenhouses and garden buildings on display.
The aquatics department (supplied by Bow Aquatics) sells lots of coldwater and tropical fish alongside all the accessories and feeds for fish you could ever want. The adjoining pet shop sells all the goodies needed to keep your pets happy and also stocks a good range of reptiles and spiders.
Other areas that are covered include a good choice of bird feeds and all things to do with our winged friends. Pots and planters are well displayed as are the extensive range of garden ornaments and statues. Prices are slightly lower than average
The cafe and tea room has indoor and outdoor seating. Although the tables and chairs are plastic the cafe is pleasant with lots of light coming from very large windows to two sides. They serve main meals at around £16.00 and a range of cheaper snack food, smaller meals and drinks.
