BACKGROUND AND HISTORY OF WHITAKERS GARDEN CENTRE

Whitakers Garden Centre was first established in 1923 on their Liverpool Road site in Prescot. It is a family run business closely connected to Beesley and Fildes.

In March 2023 the Liverpool Road site was sold for housing development. In April 2023 (after two years of hard work!) a new 1,500 square metres site for Whitakers Garden Centre was opened less than a mile away on the Manchester Road, still in Prescot.

IS WHITAKERS GARDEN CENTRE DOG FRIENDLY? Dogs (on a lead) are alllowed in all parts of the garden centre except the Palm House Bistro. There is a patio area next to the Bistro where dogs are allowed. Currently it is not covered so is fully open to the weather. A planning application for a cover to the patio has been made but not to enclose the patio. Assistance dogs are permitted in the Bistro.
