CHOOSE GARDEN CENTRES BY COUNTY BELOW
Vanstone Park Garden Centre is medium sized and serves the local community well providing them with a good choice of plants and general gardening goods. The setting for this garden centre is a particularly pleasant park with lots of mature trees and shrubs.
History and background of Vanstone Park Garden Centre is rather sketchy. But we do know that Vanstone Park Garden Centre is sited on the previous gardens of and Edwardian Mansion called the Node. In the mid 1960s the gardens were purchased by a Mr Vanstone.
He developed the gardens into a plant nursery with the intention of using it to supply plants for his landscaping business. He later sold the business as a going concern.
Run by private owners from the 1980s onwards the plants at are attractively laid out and healthy with hardy shrubs benefitting from a three year guarantee. The choice of plants is good and sufficient for the needs of most gardeners. The bedding plant displays in mid Spring onwards is a particular speciality.
The interior sales area stocks lots of gardening accessories, chemicals, fertilisers, barbecues, garden furniture. They make a special effort at Christmas to put on a festive display to attract adults and children. The interior sales area underwent an extensive refurbishment in early 2013 which not only enhanced the looks of the building but also provided significant heating savings.
Each year in late spring to early summer they host a very large camping show for several days which showcases masses of tents and camping equipment. On site is the Vanstone Woodland Railway which is open weekends and Bank holidays from 11.00 to 5.00.
