FOOD TYPE: Garden centre type of food with everything from coffees and cakes to main meals and breakfasts.
FOOD QUALITY: When we performed this review of Notcutts Booker Garden Centre we sampled their bacon ciabatta which was very tasty. In the past we have had a range of meals from this cafe and they all tasted good and were well presented.

DECOR: The decor in this cafe is relatively simple but it works very well. Large windows to one side give it a light and airy appearance. The clean white walls and large paintings add to the very pleasant appearance.

The tables and chairs are very clean and the flooring is level and modern. This is a well executed and clean cafe environment and a pleasant place to have a coffee or anything through to a main meal.
OUTDOOR SEATING: There is a pleasant covered outside seating area, with fresh plants on the tables.

SERVICE: Service is prompt and courteous.
VALUE FOR MONEY: Prices are about average for a cafe of this type.
SIZE OF PLANTS AREA: The area devoted to plants at Notcutts Booker Garden Centre is, in estate agents language, deceptively spacious. At first this appears to be medium sized but as you explore the paths it becomes clear that the plants area is larger than it first appears.
PLANT SELECTION: The selection of plants is extensive and you are sure to find all the common ones at Notcutts Booker garden centre. One area they seem to specialise in is Acers, both small and several large specimens. The plants were in good condition, well kept and well watered.
From a small amount of investigation it appears that hardy plants are guaranteed for life at Notcutts, Booker. However, we did not see this being publicised at the garden centre.
LAYOUT: It is very attractively designed with several different levels, short paths and lots of focal points. This has not happened by accident, Booker Garden Centre have clearly thought out the design well and it pays off.
The paths are narrower compared to other large garden centres although they are clear of obstacles. This narrowness is not a problem for the able bodied although wheelchair users will definitely find some areas inaccessible. There are also slopes to some areas which may prove difficult for wheelchair users.
There are two separate areas, the covered area and the open area. Both are well kept and mostly solidly paved. Large and clear signs indicate where different types of plants are located and the plants are in alphabetic order.
In 2019 this garden centre was updated throughout by Notcutts and one feature they incorporated was a small display garden with is well designed and attractive.

VALUE FOR MONEY: Plant prices are about average with the cheapest rose we could find being £12 and the cheapest clematis £15. Unusually we did find some much smaller clematis for sale at £5, a nice idea if you are willing to wait for the plant to grow to normal sale size.
SIZE: This is a large sales area made up of three or four distinct areas.
LAYOUT: They stock everything you would expect of a large centre, gardening goods, cards, gifts, books, clothes, kids toys garden, patio and interior furniture.
House plants are well displayed and there is an unusually large choice. Birds are not forgotten, there is a large choice of feeds and bird tables for sale.
There is a good choice of garden and conservatory furniture in two separate areas.
Maidenhead Aquatics have sales area at this garden centre and it is well stocked with lots of fish and aquatics accessories. There is also a large pet shop which not only sells a variety of pet accessories but also stocks a good range of small pets.
VALUE FOR MONEY: Prices are about average at this garden centre
ACCESS: Not as good as at some of the larger garden centres. Access is restricted in a few areas outside and there are a few slopes which may prove challenging.
