Eggesford Garden Centre is set in truly beautiful part of Devon with stunning views of the Taw Valley. Unusually for a garden centre access via rail is simplicity itself. It is located about half a kilometre away from Eggesford station.

The plants area is pleasantly laid out with small circular plant bays made from wood. The paths are wide and clear, no problem getting round this garden centre and it is wheelchair friendly. Tender and seasonal plants are housed in a large greenhouse to one side of the interior sales area.

This is a medium to largish sized garden centre and the range of plants for sale covers a fair range of plants. No particular speciality area was noted and all the plants looked to be in excellent condition.

The interior sales area stocks all the garden chemicals, feeds, accessories expected of a garden centre. They also stock gifts, cards, garden footwear, watering equipment and much more.

THE CAFE AT EGGESFORD GARDEN CENTRE

The cafe (called the Gardens Restaurant) is large by any standards, a 100 seater, with superb views of the local countryside. They have an interior seating area, a conservatory area and an uncovered area. Dogs are welcome in the conservatory and outdoor areas, and the odd muddy walking boot is also perfectly acceptable in those areas. The furnishings are good quality and the high standard decor gives the cafe a light and spacious feeling.

Food quality is very high with all the meals cooked on site using locally sourced ingredients. They serve main meals, snack meals, extremely delicious cakes and lots of different drinks. The area is popular with walkers and we thoroughly recommend this cafe for a starting or end point. Service is prompt and the staff are very friendly.
