Chestnut Nurseries has its entrance between two
residential houses with just a simple sign to indicate its
existence. They have no website nor do they spend lots of
money on advertising. So, how come they have been in
business for the last 70 years!? The answer is simple, top
quality plants, grown on the premises at great value prices.
They concentrate on what they do best and do it extremely
well. |
| The site used to be a chicken farm in the 1940s but the
family turned it into a plants nursery and its been in the
same family from that time on. he site is simple enough,
four or five very large greenhouses crammed full of bedding
plants and vegetable plants. These are all in top quality
condition and because they have been raised in the Coventry
area you can be sure that they will grow well in your
garden. It's also nice to think that they haven't been
transported over a hundred miles from some hothouse in the
Netherlands just to suffer a massive shock when you plant
them out. As well as bedding and vegetable plants,
Chestnut Nurseries stock a selected range of shrubs, roses
and herbaceous plants. One speciality they excel at is
hanging baskets. From end-April onwards the
greenhouses burst into life with row upon row of hanging
baskets. |
