The UK has a variation in the last frost date of six weeks. This matters to you because if you live in Huddersfield and plant out young tomato plants before the second week of June the chances are that weather conditions will either kill them or severely stunt their growth. However if you live in Brighton you can plant out young tomato plants as early as the second week of May.
The lesson is that you need to know the last frost date in your area before before growing vegetables, plants or shrubs. If you click on the link below you will be taken to a page where you can enter your home town and we will calculate your predicted last frost date.
Try it out now, it will only take you two minutes! Click here for us to show you your predicted last frost date.
Having done that, why not then try out generating your very own free vegetable, herb and fruit calendar. All the key sowing care and growing dates are included but just for the plants you will be choose. It will also be correct for your town in the UK and not just the UK in general.
