Sefton Meadows Garden Centre was acquired by Mike Withers (also owner of Trebaron Garden Centre) in November 2007. At the time it was thought the garden centre would change names but in fact it retained its existing name.
Significant investment in developing the site began immediately. In 2009 the local council granted permission for a 975 sqm extension to the garden centre including some on green belt land.
The plants area is well designed to maintain interest and encourage customers to wander round. Most of the are id paved and the paths are easy to get round. The plants are bought in from external suppliers and look in good condition. Hardy plants come with a reasonable three year guarantee. There is sufficient choice of plants to suit most tastes. To one side of the plants area is the landscaping department which includes turf, garden ornaments, fencing and paving.
The inside area houses several separate sales areas, possibly the most notable one is the very large amount of space given over to garden furniture. They also stock all those essential gardening accessories, gifts and indoor furniture. Maidenhead Aquatics have a medium sized outlet at Sefton Meadows Garden Centre and as always it is immaculately kept with a good range of live fish and aquatics accessories.
Rosie's Restaurant is on site with a good choice of main or snack meals many of which are prepared on the premises. The decor is very pleasant with a light and airy feel to it. The restaurant was awarded 4 (out of 5 - Good) stars for Food Hygiene by the Food Standards Agency in February 2012.
