Notcutts in Maidstone is situated on the Newnham Court Shopping Village where there are twenty shops, cafes and even a pub. The garden centre just makes it into the top 100 garden centres in the UK by turnover. The plants area is large with lots of plants in good condition - plants are bought in from other nurseries rather than grown on site.
The paths are solid and easy to navigate with clear signs to groups of plants. There is a large covered area connected to the main garden centre building although the remainder of the area is largely uncovered. Paths are sufficiently wide and level to allow good wheelchair access.
Bricks Coffee House sells coffees (lots of different types and toppings), teas, milkshakes, other drinks, cakes and snacks. A very pleasant place with wooden tables and chairs, exposed brick walls and interesting decor. They celebrate their one year anniversary in December 2013.
The Coffee Corner House is larger and sells main meals as well as snacks and drinks. This is a 100 seater cafe which also serves breakfasts from 9am to 11.45am. They have the top five star rating for food hygiene.
The Noble House Chinese restaurant also has the top five star rating for food hygiene, they have their own website which can be found here. The guide to their disabled access can be found here. They serve meals for eating in their attractive restaurant or as takeaway. The set menu two course lunch for £7 is excellent value.
The Newnham Court Inn is run by Fayre and Square pubs and is a typical good quality fast food pub with a menu to match.
