Littlehurst Nurseries has been family owned from
2002 and they grow many of their own plants. This gives them
the opportunity to produce top quality plants at low prices. As well
as growing their own plants they have a fully stocked gardening shop
so they can really be considered as a medium sized garden centre.
The current owners took over the garden centre in 2010.
VIDEO OF THE PLANTS AREA AT LITTLEHURST
NURSERY & GARDEN CENTRE
The first thing you notice in the outside sales area
is how clean and clutter free it is, always a good sign. There is a
reasonable sized covered area and the remainder of the plants sales
area is open. The paths are a mixture of reasonably solid gravel and
solid surface. The plant bays are kept intentionally small and they
are arranged in an attractive manner. Much of the border is shielded
by mature trees which give the area a pleasant appearance.
Plant quality is high and many of these plants have
been raised in the adjoining nurseries so there will be no shock to
them when they are planted in your garden. Littlehurst Nursery
have a particularly good choice of healthy looking
herbaceous plants (most grown on site) and young trees. We
liked the large choice of garden statues which were nicely
Finding plants is
relatively easy because there are signs to the plant groupings and
many of them are arranged in alphabetic order. The range of plants
is excellent for a medium sized garden centre, you are more than
likely to find all the common plants.
The interior sales area is well laid out and
concentrates mainly on gardening items although we did notice a few
books and a reasonable range of bird feeds. We were surprised at how
comprehensive the selection was. They ladies, gents and disabled
toilets on site. The car park is more than large enough and right
outside the entrance.
Prices are on average slightly
lower than normal especially as far as the plants were concerned.
Example prices are £12.99 for the economy Yeoman fork / spade,
clematis start at £8.99 and roses are from £7.99, all very
for the weather forecast in the Corley area.
