The Ken Bailey Garden Centre at Wistow Rural Centre is a medium sized garden centre which was first opened in 1999. It stocks all the common shrubs, perennials, ornamental and fruit trees, roses and seasonal bedding plants that most gardeners would need and they look in good condition. They also stock some more exotic plants including banana palms, reeds, cacti and lots more
This is not only a garden centre but a real working nursery which produces masses of bedding plants, hanging baskets and pot vegetables in spring and early summer. Inside and under cover, they stick mainly to gardening goods such as tools, pesticides, composts etc.
They have no cafe of their own however they are on the Wistow Rural Centre which has a coup[le of cafes of its own and they serve good food at reasonably good prices. If you want to make a day of it after visiting the garden centre then visit the famous Wistow Maze. The main maze is open from late July to mid September but there are lots of activities year round to keep youngsters and adults amused.
