CAFE REVIEW

THE PRICES
Prices were reasonable at Dobbies Garden Centre in Shepton Mallet. Baked potatoes around the £5 price, paninis were from £5 to £7, sandwiches were around £4.50 and baguettes ranged from £5 to £7. Main meals were around the £8 to £9 price.

We went for a full breakfast which included coffee for a very reasonable £5.25. The filter coffee was very good as was the bacon and black pudding. The sausages were OK but lacked flavour.

RANGE OF FOOD
A good selection of coffees, teas and cakes are available. Main meals are also served from 12.00 onwards. the normal range of sandwiches, baguettes, paninis and salads were for sale.

QUALITY OF FOOD
Average is best way to describe the food quality. Nothing stood out as being particularly good or bad.

DECOR AND SEATING
The tables and chairs were half plastic and half other fabrics. Nothing special but overall the effect was very pleasant. All the tables were cleaned well as was the whole cafe area but some of the trays were unwashed.

The area is roughly divided into three areas: a main seating area, a coffee lounge seating area which had leather armchairs in it and a veranda type area which was fully enclosed. This area looked out onto the car park which was one of the best views we have seen!

SERVICE
The service was quick and pleasant. Most meals are served from the counter.

CONCLUSIONS
Modern, slightly plastic but overall the appearance and decor gave a relaxing and pleasant impression. The food prices were about average as was the quality of the food.
