Up to September 2013 Cheddar Garden Centre was part of the Park Garden Centres group who own two other garden centres (Almondsbury and Lechlade) in the South West. The site for Cheddar Garden Centre was acquired in 2002 and the garden centre took four years from inception to opening in 2006. On 4th September 2013 the garden centre (along with Lechlade Garden Centre) was sold to Wyevale Garden Centres.

Plants are at the heart of Cheddar Garden Centre and you will be spoilt for choice. Lots of healthy plants are well displayed in the outdoor plants area. Tender plants are stored in a large covered area and other plants outside. The outside area is flat with a good solid surface. The paths are wide and easy to get round.

The interior sales area is well organised and stocks a very large range of gardening goods including tools, pesticides, feeds, seeds etc. The whole area is very modern making shopping a pleasant experience. It also houses gifts, cards, Food hall, barbecues - everything a large garden centre would stock. There is also lots of garden and conservatory furniture to choose from.

The aquatics department stocks every possible need for the new pond gardener to the more experienced ones. They have a great range of healthy fish in very attractive display tanks. The pet department will not disappoint either, lots of accessories and pet feeds including a section for bird lovers.

The cafe is massive, 350 seats in all and the decor is modern and very attractive with lots of different seating areas. Food is top quality with a carvery, main meal specials, sandwiches, hot potatoes and other lighter meals. Coffees, teas and a tempting range of cakes are also sold.
