OUR VIEWS ON CHARLECOTE PLANTS & FLOWERS
THE PLANTS AREA
Charlecote Plants and Flowers is not a garden centre in the the
traditional manner, it is really a large garden nursery. Plants are
the main attraction of this garden centre and they stock very few
garden accessories.
The area uncovered so visits on rainy days may prove a problem. The
paths are mainly solid although some sections are either grass or
gravel. Disabled access around much of the area is good although
some parts are not so good. The plants are laid out on simple
benches some of which are at low level.
The selection is plants is very good, you will find most common
varieties and some more unusual ones. They are all in top quality
condition, well watered and weed free. As well as bedding plants,
they stock a large choice of shrubs, herbaceous plants and
ornamental trees. the selection of fruit trees and bushes is very
good.
In general, prices are on the low side and represent very good
value; for example clematis start at a comparatively low £8.50.
Occasionally the prices can be higher than expected with the
cheapest roses starting at a high £12.25.
Wheelchair access will cause problems to many customers at this
garden centre and they don't have wheelchairs available for use.
Other garden centres nearby in the Charlecote area include
Red Road Nurseries and PYO,
Charlecote Garden Store
and Red Road Fuchsias.
CAR PARKING
We visited on a sunny Saturday in early March and the car park was
adequate although it was filling up. We can imagine that at peak
times of the year the car park could get very full. This is because
the car park is shared by both the garden centre and the Charlecote
Park.
