Burnham Nurseries know exactly what they are doing having won 20 Chelsea Gold Medals!
They first exhibited at the Chelsea Flower Show in 1958 and have been regular exhibitors each year. The business has been owned and run by the Rittershausen family for three generations from 1950 to the current day.
If you visit the shop to browse or buy orchids then for a small charge (£2.50 for adults, children free, everyone is free in December) you can see their 'Orchid Paradise' display. This collection of orchids has been assembled over the last 60 years and is truly spectacular. It houses many rare varieties and of course the display of flowers is good at any time of the year.
They also offer a range of courses for budding and expert orchid growers. Group visits are fine for Burnham Nurseries although it would be wise to phone them in advance. If you fancy a snack while you are there, the cafe serves a range of cakes, snacks teas and coffees. The sales and show area is on level ground and disabled access is good to most areas.
