Brookside Nurseries in Anstey came into being in 1979 with just one large greenhouse. Now, the nurseries span over one acre and include several greenhouses, polytunnels and a gardeners shop. The nurseries are still family run by the same owners.
The shop stocks many gardening items, most of those that the average gardener would need. The exterior sales area stocks a good range of shrubs and other plants though not as comprehensive as most other garden centres. They also stock a choice of fresh fruit and vegetables in their farm shop area.
What Brookside Nurseries have done though is to specialise in cut flowers and floristry in general and they do this very well. They have all the modern equipment to cold store cut plants to ensure that they are at their maximum freshness when you buy them.
