Brooklea Nurseries are a traditional plant nursery growing many of the plants they sell. This gives them all the benefits of low costs, low prices and assured quality. They stock a full range of garden plants especially, shrubs, trees, seasonal bedding and veg, perennials and lots more. Alpine plants are one of their specialties and they stock one of the largest selections in the area. Because Brooklea grow the plants their horticultural advice is excellent. They major on personalised customer service.
The plants area is very attractively designed with wide paths most of which are hard paved. Wheelchair users have designated parking bays and access to most areas is excellent. There is a covered area to house the tender plants and a larger uncovered area.
Inside they have a shop which sells seeds, pesticides, feeds and a good choice of gardening accessories. On site is Daisy's Tea Room which is open daily from 10 to 4. The cakes are homemade and come with our full recommendation. They also serve teas, coffees, breakfasts, lunches and lots of snack meals including a choice of baked potatoes, baguettes and sandwiches. With indoor and outdoor seating areas this is a charming cafe with the owners Linda and Tony giving that special and personal service.
Brooklea have recently introduced their own gardening club (see here) which provides free exclusive offers, advice and seasonal tips.
At Christmas the nurseries stock a range of seasonal plants and home grown Christmas trees. Another very nearby garden centre is Rowena Garden Centre, less than a mile away.
