CAFE REVIEW

RANGE OF FOOD
The choice of food was good with main meals, snack meals, coffees, teas and cakes. The choice of main meals was lower compared to other Wyevale Garden Centres cafes and uninspiring.

QUALITY OF FOOD
The toastie was average for garden centre cafe food, a bit disappointing because in other Wyevale Garden Centres cafes the same toastie has always been above average. The ham eggs and chips was even more disappointing with lukewarm chips and eggs. The chips also had that texture and taste as if they had been cooked a long time before. The ham was of poor quality.

Presentation was lacking, the ham, egg and chips in particular looked like they had simply been dumped on the plate.

DECOR AND SEATING
There are two seating areas at the Blooms Solihull garden centre cafe, inside and a covered outside area. The inside area is plain and consists principally of two long rows of cheap looking plastic tables and chairs. Boring and not particularly attractive. The outside area is better with wooden table and chairs and with a reasonable outlook onto the exterior area of the garden centre.

SERVICE
From beginning to queue to being served our meals took an unacceptable 25 minutes. The cafe was not particularly crowded so we assume the wait was caused by lack of staff who seemed to be working hard. Most meals are served to your table.

THE PRICES
Small breakfast £3.85, large breakfast £6.95, baked potatoes £4 to £6, toasted sandwiches £4, sandwiches £3.50 to £4, baguettes £5, children's menu £3.95 and main meals in the range £5 to £6. These are average prices for a cafe of this type.

CONCLUSION
We don't recommend this cafe, the service is too slow, the food quality is poor to average.
